At Nickelodeon

I've seen Nick's animation studio, more crowded, but the morale is okay. One of the artists said to me:

"We're doing all right, cruising along. We finish up on Fairly Odd Parents and swing over to T.U.F.F. Puppy, Butch Hartman's new show. There's thirteen episodes of it, a full season. So yeah, we're doing all right..."

Talking to other artists and directors, there are other shows on hiatus that look as if they'll be coming back, (one of them being Ni Hao, Kai Lan which I have called "Mi Hao Kai Lan" (and please accept my sincere apologies.)

Ni Hao, Kai Lan is gonna come back. The merchandise is selling real well, and they're going to be doing a third season. And Dora is going to be doing another season. Also there's some other shows in development that are going to get launched.  The studio, I think, will be getting busier ..."

Nick has begun staffing for Kung Fu Panda, the Series, and artists are moving into a building further up the hill to get the series rolling.

The studio, more than most, has a lot of creative irons in the fire.

Why does Butch Hartman have ANOTHER show?

The state of TV animation would be in better shape if Nick opted for a reality show over giving that hack more money.

What a joke.

I agree about Hartman. He personally supervised Fairly Oddparents' plummet from popularity into crapville. And his Danny Phantom was certainly less than stellar. Why is Nick giving him another venue? Are they giving up on fresh new talent?

Those studio walk-around quotes could be lifted from any animation studio in town from the past one hundred years.

"They say we have a another season...the toys are selling...they want to keep us on for...."

"... is gonna come back"

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, I wouldn't be so worried about being unemployed right now.

Relying on what "other artists and directors" say is suicidal.

All the artists and directors on NHK thought they'd be employed for at least another full season of the series. To think that anyone other than the top brass at Nick/NYC know what will ever happen with anything, is an ugly joke.
