Freeze ... Froze ... Frozen

A bit of news about the next feature from The Mouse.

... The Disney project, which was originally shelved back in 2010, is now being helmed by Tarzan's Chris Buck, with music by Robert Lopez and his wife Kristen (Winnie the Pooh). ...

Story work continues on Frozen, and animators won't be swinging on for a few months. Michael Giaimo is the art director on Frozen. He and I discussed some of his work on the picture before his TAG interview but not during it. (The studio wouldn't have liked it, so we kept mum.)

The settings and art work for Frozen (up on various studio walls) is lilting.

As we've noted previously, Frozen was originally developed as a hand-drawn feature, but Richard Ross shelved it. Then, after Tangled hit the ground at a gallop, the feature was reactivated as a CG feature. (Nothing wrong with Princess movies if the movie-going public flocks to see them.)

Apparently, it was Rich Ross who eventually got shelved.

Too bad about the hand drawn feature. However, Disney has an answer to that one. They plan to wait until all the hand drawn animators are dead then claim there's no one left who knows how to do it.

Those clever guys.

Haha! Nice one Floyd, thats hilarious. You know, in a kind of ironic, depressing, might-as-well-laugh-then-cry kind of way. Too true.
